Kaltimber's participation at the JIA by OCK event was a last-minute decision, but it turned into one of the most successful showcases we've ever had thanks to the support of Studiomate design and architecture studio.
Alongside our sister companies, Naturanexa and I-Rewood, we knew we had an important opportunity to present our sustainable products to an audience that truly values innovation and environmental consciousness. But with the event fast approaching, the biggest challenge was pulling off a booth that not only represented our brand but captured the essence of sustainability, craftsmanship, and design—something we couldn't achieve without the expertise of Studiomate.
Based in Bali, Studiomate is a design practice that specializes in architecture and interior design, with a strong commitment to tropical authenticity and locally sourced materials. Known for their seamless integration of modern sophistication with cultural and environmental awareness, they were the perfect partners to help us bring our vision to life. And despite the very tight deadline, Studiomate delivered in ways that exceeded all our expectations.
A Late Registration Turned Into a Creative Challenge
When we decided to join the JIA by OCK event, it was already late in the game. Normally, booth design and preparation take weeks, even months, to perfect. We had no such luxury. Registering late meant that the Studiomate team had to work under extreme time pressure, with every detail needing to be conceptualized and finalized in days to allow our production team enough time to build the booth components.
The Pergola: A Show-Stopping Element
One of the most remarkable features of our booth was the pergola designed by Studiomate. Intended as both a symbolic and functional centrepiece, this structure combined the use of reclaimed wood and innovative design techniques to create an architectural masterpiece that perfectly embodied Kaltimber’s ethos. It became an instant attraction for visitors, drawing people into our space with its blend of rustic warmth and modern elegance.
The impact of the pergola was immediate—so immediate, in fact, that it was sold on the opening day of the event. Its sale was not just a testament to the demand for sustainable, beautifully crafted structures but also proof of Studiomate's ability to create pieces that resonate deeply with those who see them. The design was not merely an exhibit; it was a product that people wanted to take home with them.

With very little room for error, they delivered a design that allowed Kaltimber's production team to quickly fabricate the necessary elements in time for the event. The coordination between Studiomate and our production facilities was smooth and efficient, ensuring that everything came together seamlessly on the event day.
Their work also helped elevate the booths of our sister companies, Naturanexa and I-Rewood, integrating all of our brands into one cohesive space while still allowing each company’s unique identity to shine through. It’s rare to find a design team that can blend speed, creativity, and an understanding of the deeper message behind a company’s products, but Studiomate excelled on all fronts.
