Reclaimed Ulin ironwood is valued for its exceptional durability, natural resistance to termites and humidity, and its ability to perform in demanding tropical environments. By repurposing century-old hardwood, reclaimed Ulin also supports a more sustainable approach to architectural construction and design.

We are Kaltimber, aka Kalimantan Recycled Timber, a name that conveys the philosophy of the brand as well as the emphasis on reclaiming and recycling ironwood structures.

We source reclaimed Ulin from selected disused boats, bridges and warehouses and turn it into beautiful solid timber products including decking, flooring, ceiling, duckboard, panelling and countertops.

We then take the offcuts and transform them into unique furniture & homewares.

Kaltimber operates under Indonesia’s SVLK timber legality system, giving clients clear information about the sourcing and processing of the timber used in their decking and flooring.

Responsibly Reclaimed and Recycled

We believe in giving old wood a new architectural life. Our reclaimed Ulin ironwood is recovered from existing structures and other suitable reclaimed sources, then carefully selected and re-milled for reuse.

By transforming recycled Ulin and reclaimed ironwood into new decking, flooring and architectural products, we reduce the need for newly harvested timber, minimise waste and extend the useful life of an exceptionally durable natural material.

Reducing waste while producing hardwood decking and flooring is one of our top priorities.

Reclaimed Ulin is more than simply a building material. Every board has already had a previous life before being selected for a new architectural use.

We respect that history by working with the natural grain, colour, texture and character of the timber rather than trying to make every piece look identical.
