Kaltimber’s mission is to bring nature in your home while preserving the forest.

We care for every wood lover needs by providing cost-effective, long-lasting and high-quality decking and flooring made with certified recycled hardwood.

We reclaim and recycle Kalimantan best hardwoods for home & commercial builders all over the world.

Kalimantan Recycled Timber aka Kaltimber was launched in 2009 in response to a need for genuine reclaimed wood markets in Bali. The company is built on the principles of a deep love and passion for Indonesia's forests, and a desire to protect what is left.

In this protection approach Kaltimber is replanting 50 Ulin, ironwood, trees for every 950m2 of fully processed materials sold.

The Bali operation currently employs 27 full timers highly skilled wood workers.

Our specialty is termite-resistant A1 rated exterior grade hardwoods Ulin ironwood. We supply character-filled lumber as is, or re-mill to create beautiful products to add warmth, character history to any home.

Our policy is to only source our woods from structures that are genuinely slated for demolition, and that will either not be replaced or only be replaced with wood harvested from legal and/or sustainable sources.

Our objective is reducing pressure on Indonesia's forests by promoting recycled timber as a viable and environmentally-sound alternative.

Our promise is to give you the best quality at the best price!

It’s been since 2016 you guys installed my beautiful outdoor walkways and steps... They are performing beautifully (no surprise!)... I’m bringing back some solar light components from the US, and will stop by so we can do some experimenting with designs for new pathway lights!

We have worked with Kaltimber three times now— replaced our staircase and large wooden floor, bought decking for a pool, and also bespoke countertops. Professional service, beautiful work, wonderful materials; what more could you want!
— William Ingram & Jean Howe, Umajati Retreat, Bali
Delighted with the beautiful ironwood that Kaltimber supplied. My 4000 sq-meter deck blends beautifully into the surrounding nature, bringing the outside in.
— Chris Bromwich, Rote island
Kaltimber has been working with us for a couple of years now on our decking replacement. We chose reclaimed Ulin decking for a variety of reasons such as aesthetic, durability, termite proof and of course the story that we can tell our guests. We have done all of our public space decking and 17 villas so far with Kaltimber. Working with Kaltimber has been great, they keep their promises and are flexible, thanks.

Ulin makin langka dihutan Kalimantan

(Ulin increasingly hard to find in Kalimantan forests)

Endemic to the islands of Borneo & Sumatra, Ulin trees in South Kalimantan are estimated to have decreased to 20% of the original natural stands 40 years ago. Nowadays trees with a height of 35 meters are hard to find, and a 20cm diameter Ulin tree is rare. Even 10cm diameter trees are being cut down for timber. Ulin is a slow developing tree which grows at a rate of less than one centimeter per year. Uncontrolled logging is fueling the extinction of Ulin.
