The 2024 edition of the much-anticipated JIA Curated Kiosks event themed "In Process" was a true celebration of creativity, diversity, and collaboration. Kaltimber was honoured to be part of this incredible gathering, representing our reclaimed wood decking and flooring solutions alongside our sister companies, I-Rewood and Naturanexa.
The event, held over four amazing days, offered us the opportunity to showcase not just our products but also our commitment to sustainable design and innovation.
A Booth Designed to Inspire
Our booth, thoughtfully designed by our trusted partner, Studiomate, was a reflection of the event’s theme. The concept of "In Process"—a series of actions or steps taken to achieve a particular end—was evident in every element of our display. The use of reclaimed wood in our booth wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was a powerful statement about the beauty and potential of materials that have been given a second life. Our booth embodied the transition process from raw material to refined product, demonstrating the meticulous craftsmanship and sustainable practices that define Kaltimber.
Embracing Gotong Royong: The Spirit of Collaboration
This year’s theme, *"In Process,"* not only celebrated the individual creative journey but also highlighted the importance of collective effort. This is where the Indonesian cultural value of *Gotong Royong*—solidarity, communal cooperation, and mutual assistance—played a pivotal role. For Kaltimber, this concept resonates deeply with our philosophy. The process of reclaiming and repurposing wood is inherently collaborative, requiring the skills, expertise, and shared vision of many.
During the event, our collaboration with I-Rewood and Naturanexa, as well as the seamless integration of Studiomate’s design, illustrated the power of working together towards a common goal. Our shared booth became a microcosm of *Gotong Royong*, a space where diverse ideas and talents converged to create something extraordinary.
Innovation Through Diversity and Meaningful Connections
One of the most exciting aspects of the "In Process" theme was its emphasis on diversity as a catalyst for innovation. The event highlighted how different backgrounds, educations, and cultures contribute to the dynamic landscape of design and craft. For Kaltimber, this was a moment to showcase how our approach to reclaimed wood is influenced by various global perspectives, resulting in products that are not only sustainable but also rich in character and history.
Throughout the event, we were thrilled to engage with a diverse group of designers, architects, and visitors from all over the world. Each conversation was an opportunity to share our story of reusing old wood and the passion that drives our work.
The enthusiasm and curiosity of everyone who visited our booth were truly inspiring, and we look forward to the possibility of future collaborations with many of the individuals and companies we connected with. We believe that by working together, we can continue to push the boundaries of sustainable design and make a lasting impact.
Looking Forward: The Future of Sustainable Design
As the event came to a close, we left with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper connection to the global design community. The "In Process" theme reminded us that the journey of creation is ongoing, a series of steps that lead to ever greater achievements. At Kaltimber, we are committed to continuing this journey, working hand in hand with our partners, and staying true to the values of sustainability, innovation, and collaboration.
We look forward to what the future holds and to our continued participation in events like this that celebrate the best of design, craft, and cultural heritage. As a matter of a fact, we already expressed our interest in booking not one, but two booth slots for the 2025 edition of JIA Curated Kiosks themed “Evolving Perspectives” . Thank you to everyone who visited our booth and joined us on this incredible journey.
