Did we scare you? No? Maybe these DIY Halloween wood projects will scare your visitors!
Indeed, it is that time of the year where scaring others is accepted and even fun! No matter your age, we give you a list of easily achievable Halloween projects using wood.
There is plenty of content online that allows you to craft your own Halloween decorations and create family traditions. Wood is a great material choice because no matter what the weather is, chances are it will last for very long. Thus, you can reuse them years after years, and invest in candies and costumes instead!
1) Public humiliation from the dark ages!
This wooden pillory is a great one as well! Very easy to do, and a possibility to use whatever piece of wood you have at your disposal.
Great idea too to put an old doll or stuffed animal to make things more realistic, so scarier!
Make sure the neck’s space is small enough though. You wouldn’t want kids to start humiliating each other for real!
2) Skeleton in a coffin
Gravediggers, there you go! A couple of plywood boards and some strong duct tape and you are all sorted in the woodworking side of this coffin! The biggest work will actually be to decorate the coffin rather than playing with wood, but the end result will be great!
3) Scary wood faces
This is a great last-minute DIY project. As long as you have the equipment to make woodblocks, you can craft as many scary faces as your painting skills allow! Not an artist? No problem! Who said beauty and scary matched each other?
4) DIY Directional Halloween Post Sign
What would suggest better than there is fear around than a signpost full of places nobody would want to go? Not that it would deter kids craving for candies to knock at your door, but it would surely be a great addition to your Halloween decor! Best thing? Does it look hard to make?
5 ) Lantern crate
Pumpkin style or any style you wish, this can be made from upcycled pallets or fence posts, and it would certainly add some spookiness on your frontyard! Best thing about this project? You can use it to store your other Halloween decorations afterwards!
6) Mummies.
You can also reuse old pallets, picket fence posts or just about any other wood that you want to cut down to size to create these mummies. Cheap toilet paper can be used to wrap them and a quick hammering session will get you done in no time!
